A total of 27,831 hunters acquired 30,755 turkey transport tags for the 2002 hunting season. Approximately 55% of all turkey transport tag holders actually hunted turkey. Turkey hunter successwas 29.8% statewide. The GMU hunter numbers do not add up to the PMU totals because many hunters hunt in more than one GMU during the year.
