You know I would always hunt the Potholes just before, on, and a couple days after Veterans Day...11th of November. Some of my best waterfowling memories over the years have taken place during the 2nd week of November in the dunes.....long before the outdoor media announce the arrival of northerns...usually just before or during Thanksgiving week.
Lack of hunters, lots of dumb easy decoying birds and weather not playing a significant role.....just doesn't get any better. At one time during the 70's and 80's the Potholes was my second home....both work and play...lol.
