This new call being put out by H.S., what are your thoughts ?
Is it the next "big thing" ?, Is it really for turkeys, or just the company trying to sell off their "Mac-Daddy" and "Miss Mac-Daddy" Elk call overstock ?
I might get one to try out this spring, but mostly because it sounds like a predator call, and I hope to get drawn for spring bear.
Who knows, it might call in a Turkey, bear, or a coyote.......

Stik,
While I admittedly don't know much about calling turkeys, or the call you are referring to, I do know a bit about predator calling, in woods where turkeys reside.
I have never ever seen a turkey come to any "prey distress" sounds, but I've seen a few going away.

Stick,
Thanks for the link.
I get the concept, I guess... but the guy using the call, in the video, should have watched the rest of the footage, before they filmed his part...
He had the length, and cadence, of the sound all wrong!
So, on another subject, I see you guys have abandoned this place for H-W, eh?

I don't know about abandoned, I don't give locations on H-W, its a trust issue.
I also visit TG, TR, BGH, and B-site, I just have different conversations.....

Stik,
Maybe abandoned is a little strong, but I did notice most of the "regulars" here, now post there, and this place is like a ghost town (and pretty much has been since last turkey season).
Considering I got banned from H-W, for exposing the fact a moderator admitted to having saved "copies" of my private messages, I'd say there's a definite trust/security issue there.
"TG, TR, BGH, and B-site"... where?

| This site gets more attention come season (Turkey) and is less boastful and more helpful than those "other sites"

It's been kind of slow on this site as of late, but I do visit often and try to stay involved. I too think the site will show more interest as we get closer to the opener.
Although I may participate a bit in the other sites, I too still like this better especially as far as turkey talk .....

It has been slower than normal I've noticed too, Spurdaddy has been busy opening his own business and I think Sneaky has had other issues to worry about..
The H-W site does have atrust issue and it sure seems kind of 'Clicky" If you're not one that goes along they kind of just ignore you, I don't have time for that garbage.
Stik I haven't heard that call yet, I'm still on dial up so turkey would be over before it ever downloaded
I'm not buying too many calls this year, i spent a $175 on a Jim Nelson box call last year at the summer convention and this winter I've been stocking up on reloading supplies for my guns, so i'm laying low on the call buying front. Did pick up one of those gobbler lounger chairs from cablea's last weekend. It'll sure make those long naps more comfortable out there this year

Stiknstringbow................under no circumstance buy this call. It's getting laughed off the southern forums as we speak. Just another gimmick to get you turkey $$$'s in not only my opinion, but most every turkey hunter from Georgia to Iowa....lol. Spend the money taking the kids out for ice cream...you'll get a better return on your investment.

Krusty.........as far as abandoned, there just isn't any activity here except for turkey season. Outside this forum, the WaNWTF doesn't even update the main site with proceedings from business meetings etc. Not much to draw someone here when you consider no new news and nobody here on the forum unless it's preseason.
There is also a ton of topics on Hunting Washington, which keeps it interesting. Sorry to hear you got banned....why don't you see if you can come back.
Can one of you guys tell me if the WaNWTF home page is still up? If it is I can't find it. The forum link is under the South Sound page

| We are in the works with tying it in with the National site, along with at our state level we are getting a new person to take on the site. We are trying and with our new State President( Kurt Beckley) he's doing a great job of getting us rolling back down a good path. So here in the near future it should be getting better.

I was curious I thought and it's probably true, that the only signal she's ready to breed is she lays down in front of the tom in a receptive manner. That's the cue

Might work for that.................I really don't know though. Make sure you give us a field review if you try it......on predators, that is.

| Oops ... yep, meant croaker ... course the turkey would probably die of laughter if he heard anyone use a croaker and then he'd end up in my cooler while I ate a croaler.
