If all goes well, you'll need only one shot at a turkey, but you do need to be prepared to reload and that can be as simple as pre-loading powder and shot into a couple or several or more speed loaders, which can be anything from commercially-made versions or the ever-popular film canisters.

transparent film canisters let you readily see which contains shot and which contains powder.  Or, use black canisters for powder, white for shot.  Or simply mark them with tape or marker.

The theory is simple.  To reload, you pop a top, dump the powder, run a wad or wads down on the powder, pop andother top and dump the shot, followed by the overshot card.

The beauty of this system is that you can carry the speed loaders - and another canister or two for wads and overcards - in the pocket of your jacket or vest.
